We are thrilled to announce that the PERL-summer 2025 has been successfully held! This dynamic one-day event has showcased innovative research from leading institutions across and beyond the Greater Bay Area, including the University of Macau, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Macau University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Huizhou University, Carnegie Mellon University, Yale University, etc.

 

Highlights Include:

  • 11 Talks with three sessions:

    • Language Comprehension and Reading

    • Corpus and Computational Linguistics

    • Speech Production

  • 19 Posters across diverse student and researcher projects on bilingualism, AI in language learning/translation, speech perception, sociolinguistics, and more. 

  • Two Excellent Poster Awards were presented to (1) Ruofan WU and (2) Yijing HE & Wai Sum LEE!

 

Harvests Include:

  • Gain insights into experimental methods like eye-tracking, EEG/ERP, computational modeling, and corpus analysis.

  • Explore research on multilingualism, L2 acquisition, speech production, reading, and AI's role in language.

  • Network with linguists and cognitive scientists from across the Greater Bay Area.

  • Discover emerging trends and support early-career researchers.
