HASLETT, David Andrew

Dave Haslett is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Translation at the City University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and he has previously worked in the Division of Social Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and in the English Language Centre at the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr. He conducts research in psycholinguistics and computational linguistics, such as investigating when and why languages exhibit systematic form–meaning mappings. His work has implications for language evolution, cognitive science, and AI alignment.
