HU, Hai
Biography
Hai Hu is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Linguistics and Translation, City University of Hong Kong. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University before coming to CityUHK. He obtained his PhD degree in computational linguistics from Indiana University Bloomington, with a minor in cognitive science. His research interests include natural language processing, benchmarking (large) language models, and cognitive science. His work focuses on training language models and evaluating them in their linguistic and reasoning abilities in Chinese as well as in multilingual settings. He has published in top-tier journals and conferences such as Computational Linguistics, ACL, EMNLP, AAAI, COLING, etc. He is a believer in open science and has opensourced many benchmarks and models to support research in industry and academia.
