論元的分佈與選擇 - 語法中的顯著性和局部性 The Distribution and Selection of Arguments: Prominence and Locality in Grammar

摘 要

漢語句法成分表現出無選擇性，最近的一些研究認為這種無選擇性來自輕動詞(如Lin 2001)。本文認為這種無選擇性的起因在於漢語是無格語言(胡建華2006，2007)。漢語沒有定式與不定式之分，也沒有時態投射(Hu， Pan & Xu 2001)，自然也就沒有格，因為格與時態投射關聯。漢語由於沒有格，題元的指派就不是一個純句法操作。本文認為漢語句法成分的選擇取決於本文提出的題元允准和題元連接條件。在本文的分析中，題元允准是一種局部運算，而題元連接涉及局部性與顯著性之間的交互作用。在Hu(2002)有關分析的基礎上，本文論證局部性與顯著性之間的交互作用是決定漢語詞序以及論元選擇和解讀的關鍵。

It is claimed in Hu (2006, 2007) that the unselectiveness of subjects and objects in Mandarin Chinese does not result from the assumed existence of a set of light verbs in the language, contra Lin (2001), but is related to the fact that NPs in Chinese are not marked with abstract Case. On the basis of this claim, this paper further argues that the distribution and ordering of arguments in Chinese syntax are not determined by Case, as there is no Case, and proposes that the linking of theta-roles to arguments in Chinese be regulated by a mechanism that ties to the interaction of the Locality Condition with the Prominence Condition, as proposed by Hu (2002). It is shown that it is the interaction between Prominence and Locality that determines the distribution and selections of arguments in Chinese syntax.
