Abstract

This study conducts an experiment to investigate the cognitive effects of verbs' cognitive model. The cognitive model in this research is limited to the verbal process verbs. Data on independent and dependent variables' cognitive model knowledge and reading comprehension are collected and analyzed. Results show that the acquisition of verbal process verbs' cognitive model has a positive correlation with the college students' reading comprehension, and the cognitive model has a tendency to be transferred from verbal process verbs to other verbs. Thus the cognitive model generates an all-round understanding of discourse.
