Organizer

Professor Kazuo Nishiyama is an internationally recognized scholar in the field of Japanese language and cultural studies. He is a native of Japan who received higher education in both Japan and the United States. He received his Ph.D. from University of Minnesota in 1970 and subsequently worked for the Department of Speech Communication, University of Hawaii at Manoa, until his retirement in 2000. He taught for The University of Hong Kong as Reader in fall of 1996 and Nanyan Technological University of Singapore as Senior Fellow in spring 1997. He has many publications and articles on the subjects of intercultural communication, tourism communication, business negotiation, and real estate investment. He has been active in research, writing and holding seminars for various academic and business groups. He is now a Professor Emeritus.
