Before “returning home” to City University of Hong Kong, Professor Chang Nam Fung retired in 2018 as professor from Lingnan University, where he taught translation since 1994. In 1986-1993, he was lecturer/senior lecturer at the then City Polytechnic of Hong Kong.

Professor Chang won the Stephen C. Soong Translation Studies Memorial Award (宋淇翻譯研究論文紀念獎) four times—in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit in 2016 under Lingnan University’s Teaching Excellence Awards Scheme. He has translated into Chinese Oscar Wilde’s four comedies (including The Importance of Being Earnest), Robert Bolt’s A Man for All Seasons, and Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay's Yes Prime Minister.
