What Does It Take to Be a Language Professional?

Abstract

Ask Dr. Wenhui Zhong. He will share his insight from a career of 25 years of English/Chinese bilingual work as a translator, interpreter, linguist, journalist, writer, editor and teacher. From a practitioner’s perspective and drawing on real life scenarios, the seminar will touch on career opportunities for language professionals, the skill sets required, and useful resources.

Speaker

Born in Guangzhou, Dr. Zhong has lived in Hong Kong, UK and is now residing in Canada, working as a language consultant based in Vancouver. He is the chief Chinese editor of Bamboo Business Communications, a corporate publishing agency. He is a fellow and chartered linguist (translator & interpreter) of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
