Taught bilingually, Linguistics Wonderland is an annual summer enrichment programme organized by the Department of Linguistics and Translation of City University of Hong Kong. It is designed for secondary school students who are interested in exploring the nature of human language and applying knowledge about language. The general aim of the programme is to stimulate young people’s interest in learning about languages and to foster disciplined passion for knowledge and discovery in everyday life. Linguistics Wonderland 2014 features a series of systematic and fun introduction to structures and meanings of languages. In a variety of teaching and learning activities such as lectures, group work, and games, students will be exposed to diverse features of language systems, and various ways of how linguistic knowledge can be applied to everyday life. Upon completion of the programme, students will receive a certificate of completion issued by the Department.
