We would like to bring to your attention the good news that Prof Pan Haihua has been appointed by the Ministry of Education, China, to be one of 5 recipients from the Humanities and Social Sciences of the Changjiang Scholars - Chair Professorship (长江学者-讲座教授) this year, and you can view the announcement at http://www.changjiang.edu.cn/news/1/1-20120731-279.htm. The ceremony was held at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) on 7 September 2012, and the relevant news can be accessed at http://news.blcu.edu.cn/jwxw/258893.shtml.

Prof. Pan is the fourth recipient in Language and Linguistics associated with BLCU, and previous recipients (according to their year of appointment) include Prof. Feng Shengli from Harvard University (now at the Chinese University of Hong Kong), Prof. James C-.T. Huang from Harvard University and Prof. Sun Chaofen from Stanford University.
