Abstract
In this research seminar, eSpaceML is proposed as a specification scheme for annotating event-related spatial expressions in natural language. It adopts MITRE's SpatialML (2009) as a basic framework but goes beyond the treatment of toponyms and their topological relations. eSpaceML is extended to cover various types of link among space, time, and events. As a modularized scheme in a pivotal format, it is shown to be interoperable with other annotation schemes such as ISO-TimeML (2009) that deals with the semantic annotation of time and events.
