Visit to CTL by GUFS Research Students

Thursday 30 November 2006 30 research students from the Lexicographical Research Centre (LRC) of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GUFS) visited CTL on Thursday 30 November 2006, kick starting a first round of academic exchanges between the two institutions. Mr Matthew Leung, associate head of department, spoke on behalf of CTL. Dr Haihua Pan, Dr Zhu Chunshen and Dr Alex Fang jointly presented CTL's syntax, translation, and research programmes. Prof Zhang Yihua, on behalf of LRC, spoke highly of the planned collaborations between CTL and his Centre. GUFS students presented six talks on their research with three presentations from CTL by Mr Billy Wong, Mr Ian Chow and Mr Marvin Lam. The academic visit was successfully concluded with a tour on campus to various research facilities such as the library and CTL's RS office in To Yuen. CTL Technical Support
